So… I went back out for a second run! I was worried that I wouldn’t want to keep it up, but I’m really glad I am. Yesterday Victoria and I went back out to Springbank Park for another run. Turns out that the Run for Retina event was going on at the same time, but we just jumped in and ran with the participants anyway! It was pretty cool to have all sorts of people cheering us on, even though we weren’t participating in the official run!
This time my Nexercise tracker worked properly, and we were able to get more accurate results of our run. I completed 4.88 km in 41 minutes, averaging a speed of 7.03 kph. Victoria and I didn’t run the entire time — at points we would walk instead of run, as we’re working to build endurance. This time I didn’t feel any pain afterwards, and today my legs feel just fine. Perhaps I’m getting stronger already? Who knows?
I’m excited to get back out again, especially now that the weather is FINALLY warming up a bit. It was absolutely beautiful yesterday (and today!). I wore yoga pants, a t-shirt, and my Lululemon zip-up, and that was perfect. I wore my gloves for awhile, but eventually my hands started sweating, so I took them off. I need to find some lighter-weight gloves, I think.
By the way, I have officially registered for the Run for Ovarian Cancer 2013. If the link doesn’t work, search here by looking up my name: Kerry Hishon. I would appreciate it so much if you would consider sponsoring me. Any amount helps! Thank you so much! 🙂
EDIT (5:30 pm): I am horrified by the tragedy that occurred today during the Boston Marathon. Here are ways you can help. Please keep the victims and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
