January Update!

Hello everyone!  Hope your holidays were enjoyable and restful… mine was actually pretty busy, spending time with family and friends and getting caught up on some badly needed house cleaning and crafting!

I’m back at work at Original Kids, and we had our first rehearsal for Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. yesterday!  I was really pleased with how well prepared all the kids were!  I’ve got a big cast — 34 kids, ranging in age from 7 to 15 — and every single one of the kids had clearly prepared themselves well over the holidays and took the auditions seriously.  Made casting a tough job!  I’m going to be releasing the casting tomorrow, and I’m excited — I hope the kids will be too!

We also started back with Edward II rehearsals on Sunday.  Confession time: it was off-book day, and I was not off book.  Very embarrassing, and unprofessional.  I’m not proud of it, but it was the kick in the butt I needed to get myself back on track.  Luckily we don’t open until February.  Some of us got to try on costumes, and I LOVE my costume!  Can’t give away any details here, but trust me, we’re going to look great onstage.

I had a meeting with Ceris and Brock about [THEY FIGHT!] over the break, and got scenes solidified and casting complete.  Now we’re doing some script editing, and planning for rehearsals to start in March.  Another project to look foward to!

Shawn and I also celebrated our third year together on January 6th, and I took my mom to Medieval Times on January 5 for her birthday!  We also recorded a giant podcast for The Lovers, The Dreamers and You just before New Years, which was great.  Fun times all around.

I also was at the presentation of The Muppets Christmas Carol at the Palace Theatre.  We gathered 15 boxes of donations of canned food for the food bank!

January especially is going to be busy, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to ease up until after the London Fringe Festival goes up in June.  Who knows what’ll happen then?

Here’s to a busy, event-filled 2013!
