As a director and teacher, I’m always on the lookout for new exercises, lessons, and ideas that I can share with my actors and students. I love collecting new information about theatre and finding games and fun topics I can use in classes and rehearsal. Drama Notebook is a fantastic resource for all that and more — as it says in their title, they’ve got new drama activities, lesson plans, scripts, curriculum, and a huge collection of theatre games all in one place! There’s even a special members-only area which gets you access to over 2,500 pages of drama activities, lesson plans, scripts, and videos.
Drama Notebook is a really great resource for teaching youth of all ages. I’ve used a number of the warm-ups and games in my T.A.G. (The Actor Grows) classes at OKTC; my favourite warm-up is probably Zip Zap Zop for getting the voice and body warmed up, and just to get silly! Check it out!
