In case you hadn’t heard, I’m directing Nancy Drew: Girl Detective this season at Original Kids Theatre Company! Rehearsals have been going swimmingly; we have the entire show blocked, and off-book day is coming up on Saturday! (For those of you who don’t know that term, that’s the day that all the actors have to have all their lines memorized!) The actors and crew have been working really hard, and I definitely think that YOU should come see the show!
Here are the details!
Nancy Drew: Girl Detective
Story by Carolyn Keene
Adapted for the stage by Marisha ChamberlainPart of OKTC’s 3rd Annual PlayFest
Many of us remember being young, and compulsively reading every Nancy Drew detective novel we could get our hands on. Carolyn Keene’s girl detective was our Katniss Everdeen! Now, Nancy Drew will be detecting again, and this time, on our Spriet stage! We’re at the Van Pelt Estate, home of the Footlighters’ Barn Theatre where old Leander Van Pelt has died, and rumours abound of a hidden stash of gems. Adding to the tension, a mysterious ghost haunts the estate. Can Nancy Drew and her friends solve the hair-raising mystery of the ghost and recover the purloined jewels? Can the Footlighters’ play go on? You can be sure that Nancy Drew will leave no stone unturned… because it is “Whodunit” time at Original Kids!
