Win Your Own Copy of The Broadway Coloring Book! [Giveaway!]

Hey everyone! How’s it going? I’m still feeling a bit of post-show blues from Tarzan being over (even though it’s been nearly a month… ughhhhhh), so what better way to distract myself than with a bit of colouring? I’m partnering with Monica from Curious Custom, who has generously offered two copies of her awesome Broadway Coloring Book to give away to two of my followers! (Note: Monica is from the U.S. and I’m from Canada, so I’m going back and forth with the spelling of colouring vs. coloring in this post — it’s really weird for me to type, ha ha!)

Monica’s colouring books are all hand-drawn and totally creative. The Broadway Coloring Book features scenes from famous Broadway musicals including CabaretChicagoThe Phantom of the Opera, The King & I, Kinky Boots, and West Side Story.

The Broadway Coloring Book is perfect for theatre lovers and colouring aficionados, and it makes a great gift! It’d also be great for summer drama camps and theatre classes, or for keeping young actors quiet during rehearsals when they’re on break! (Hmmm… maybe I should get a few for my Original Kids!)

There are two ways to enter the giveaway:

1. Visit CuriousCustom on Etsy and Favorite “The Broadway Coloring Book,” Like Kerry Hishon on Facebook, and leave a comment below letting me know what Broadway show you’d love to colour! (Be sure to include your current email so I can get a hold of you!)

2. Visit and follow @kerryhishon on Instagram and @curiouscustom on Instagram, find and regram this photo with the hashtag #BroadwayColoringBook and let us know what Broadway show you’d love to colour! (Your account must be public for us to be able to see it!)

The fine print: Contest is open to participants worldwide. You have until 11:59pm EST on Thursday June 30th, 2016 to enter. Two winners will be chosen at random; one on and one on Instagram. Once the winners have been contacted, you will have one week to respond and claim your prize. The prize may not be exchanged or transferred and no cash alternative will be offered. Liability cannot be accepted for entries which are lost in transit or not received due to technical difficulties. My decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No purchase necessary.

Good luck and happy colouring!!!

Where the heck have I been?!

Where the heck have I been?

New York, baby!  I just got back yesterday from a trip to New York City with OKTC, which was an AMAZING experience.  I saw 10 shows (8 Broadway, 2 Off-Broadway), tramped through the city, and took over 500 photos!  There was a film being shot in Times Square while we were there too, called New Year’s Eve, so the Time Square ball was up too!  Weird for March, but still pretty awesome!

The shows I saw were:
Thursday March 10 – How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (starring Daniel Radcliffe)
Friday March 11 – Catch Me If You Can (starring Norbert Leo Butz and Aaron Tveit)
Saturday March 12 (matinee) – Treasure Island
Saturday March 12 (evening) – Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark (which was… interesting, to say the least)
Sunday March 13 (matinee) – Avenue Q
Sunday March 13 (evening) – American Idiot (my favourite show of the trip!!  Last performance for Stark Sands and Davey Havok)
Monday March 14 – The Book of Mormon
Tuesday March 15 – The Addams Family (loved it!   Starring Bebe Neuwirth)
Wednesday March 16 (matinee) – Memphis
Wednesday March 16 (evening) – Priscilla Queen of the Desert

The trip was really cool because there was no set itinerary; everyone on the trip could do whatever they wanted to do (as long as they were not hanging around in the hotel!)  I’m so thankful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to go back to NYC again!

Since I haven’t blogged for quite awhile, here’s a quick update:

No Traveler Returns (Out of Sight Productions) opened in February and went very well.  Here is an article about the show that was in the Londoner, and you can read reviews here and here (from Theatre in London and the UWO Gazette, respectively).  There was even a note posted about it on Maureen Jennings‘ website!

OKTC’s Jolly Roger and the Pirate Queen opens Friday, March 25 at the Spriet Family Theatre in Covent Garden Market.  I’m a bit nervous, as it’s been over a week since our last rehearsal, but I know the kids will pull it together!

Rehearsals are in full swing for OKTC’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.  These kids have been working their butts off!  We’ve got the entire show blocked already… and we don’t go up until late May.  At least we’ve got lots of time to polish and perfect!

Lots of other stuff in the works at the moment… writing mostly, and gearing up for Fringe 2011!  I can’t wait!
